ROSSELLA BARBANTE

Bio

Rossella Barbante studied at Brera’s Academy of fine arts, in Milan, Italy. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate coursework by delving into the complex topic of the Anthropocene. This experience has provided her with a unique perspective on how humans have impacted nature in a detrimental way.

Her work has also been enriched by foreign experiences such as the art residency at the Academy of Cluj Napoca, has been exhibited nationally and internationally thanks to the collaboration with galleries such as the Westend Galerie in Frankfurt, Lorenzelli Arte, Museo Diocesano in Milan, Mudima Foundation, Paratissima and many others.

If, in the initial phase of his research, the landscape was mainly a means of internal investigation – a refuge, a meeting point between the external world and the internal world – now it takes on a more dramatic meaning. Attention is paid to the new geological era, the Anthropocene, wherein man is no longer a detached observer, but rather often intervenes in harmful and irreparable ways in nature.

  MILENA SGAMBATO Bio Milena Sgambato graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan in 2008. The undisputed protagonist of her works is the indefinite: from the characters, ambiguous, with concealed faces, to the timeless and aspatial settings. MARKÈTA ŠENKYŘÌK Bio Markéta Šenkyřík, a bookbinder and illustrator originally from the Czech Republic, but who has lived and worked in Bernalda since 2020. She studied book design in Ostrava, and Belli Arti in Clermont-Ferrand in France. Then the arrival in London where she worked for Shepherd’s Bookbinders and co-managed an independent art space, 139Artspace. As an illustrator, her work includes the ‘limited edition of 24 illustrated booklets used as script presentations for Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis film project, commissioned by the director. MARCO TAGLIAFICO

    MARCO TAGLIAFICO Bio He lives and works in Alessandria. He studied Oriental languages and completed his training in the master’s program at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive. His work has been exhibited in various shows, including: Ligne(s) de Mire (Bonisson Art Center, 2025), As Islands (Castel Belasi, 2024), Boiling Projects (Fondazione Oelle Catania, 2020), Da Guarene all’Etna (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Guarene, 2019), 10 Years Old (Foro Boario Modena, 2017). In 2024 he won the Espoarte Arteam Cup award, in 2023 the MZ Costruzioni prize at Art Verona, and in 2021 the New Post Photography award at Mia Fair.
